If you are ever craving for a good vegetarian meal with an authentic taste of North India, you must visit Rasoi Ghar! Located in Karama, this place offers one of the best Thali’s in Dubai and is always packed during the weekends.
As you are seated, you’ll have the servers come over with a silver jug to help you wash your hands before the meal. They’ll then start by serving you lime juice followed by an array of starters including crunchy Samosas, squishy dhoklas and delicious Dahi puri. We chose to take two rounds of starters before getting started with the main course.
Servers came along again to get us started with the main course, but before that, another tall glass of lassi was poured and then another. They have a different menu every weekday and if you want to know what will be served in your thali, look up on Zomato. Every meal is served with the details of whats being served on your plate.
The thali came with a variety of dal dishes (one in Marwadi style and the other in Gujarati style), followed by Methi paneer, Bhindi, Aloo Achari and Kadhi. You are also served phulka and puri along with veg dum biriyani and khichadi.
But, just before we were all done with the main course (probably even get on with a second and the third round of servings), we were served Halwa and Ras Malai.
I must admit, this has to be one of the most extravagant vegetarian meal we’ve ever had after Chowki Dhani in Rajasthan. If you are looking out for a good eat out this weekend, give it a go for AED 45 per person.
