Book review: The Girl of My Dreams by Durjoy Datta

This psychological thriller revolves around three leading characters – Daman, Shreyasi and Avni. Daman who suffers a memory loss after an accident gets constant nightmares of Shreyasi. Every nightmare has the same car, the same girl, the same name with the same climax of her death. As he struggles to give a fresh start to his life with his now girlfriend Avni, he decides to quit his job and chase his passion for writing forward with the lead characters in his book being Daman and Shreyasi.

The girl in his dreams soon comes to reality. Is she the Shreyasi he loved or is she a dangerous stalker? You’ll have to read the book to find out.

This was my first read amongst the books Durjoy Dutta has written, and to be very honest I thoroughly enjoyed most of it. Every flipping page left me agog till the very end. Although, certain portions were slightly protracting, but it can be completely forgiven considering the story line was pretty new and dramatic. The whole mystery about Shreyasi’s identity will surely keep you hooked.

Every character is well defined, and this is not your everyday love story.
