Book review: Tea for Two and a Piece of Cake

Overall rating: ★★★

If you were to ever look out for the Indian version of Mills and Boons, I would recommend this National Bestseller of 2012 by Preeti Shenoy to be the one.

It’s an endearing story of a simple girl – Nisha, who is not too confident about her body falls in love and gets married to the guy of her dreams only to be abandoned eight years later. All though she is left midway in the marital relationship with two children to take care of, she manages to sweep her life back together. Life gives her a second chance – for romance, to gain the confidence in life, to be independent and to live her dreams. She gets her second chance to gather her life back through an old friend Akash.

I have rated this book three stars all though I was juggling between a two and three for quite some time.

The story line is very predictable, yet keeps you hooked if you love romantic stories that also talks about empowering women. The story gives away subtle messages like all though you may get married to the man of your dreams, marriage may not be a bed of roses until you focus and give it time equally.

Overall, a good read and would recommend this to the romance readers.
