Eat out review: Grub Shack, Dubai

So the visit to Grub Shack was totally a zomato pick for the weekend. You know one of those days when you want to try a new place away from the bustling city. Grub Shack, late last year was located in Sharjah and then due to popular demand shifted to Dubai. They literally have culinary trip that takes you all the way from Dubai to Bombay and then drops you to Goa.

When you walk in, the settling will take you to India with the contemporary interiors, live music in the background and picture perfect Kulfilicious auto.

Now a word about the food: We started off with our all time favourite hot and sour chicken soup or I’d rather say the delicious hot and sour chicken soup. Followed by the Fiery piri piri chicken, from their tandoor. This was one of my favourite of the evening, chicken marinated perfectly with the spices and yogurt.

This was followed by one of their pick for us, which was the Gemma’s Mango prawn curry, cooked in coconut gravy, indian spices and a little tangy with ripe mango.

Something cold, something hot. Time for a drink.

My husband being a iced tea lover, he picked something cold. Ginger lemon iced tea to be precise.

And although I am not a chai lover, I chose something hot. A smokin Masala infused chai which I have to agree was a complete treat to the eyes.

A word of warning: If you walk in to the restaurant during the weekend, ensure you are they by 6pm. Else you will be left waiting for a spot (that is unless you are flexible settling out).

What could be improved?
I think the food was above average but the service could be drastically improved. The priority of a certain nationality over the other did annoy us a bit and I guess the owner spotted us with the grumpy face and spoke to us.

My rating: 3.5 stars
